Purdy and Figg Review

I ordered my first box of Purdy and Figg Eco Cleaning way back in August 2023. In fact just at the same time as I bought the domain for Love Life More! Something I’ve only just realised. I instantly fell in love with everything about Purdy and Figg, their ethos, their effective cleaning and of course their scents. Check out my Purdy and Figg Review below

I’d seen their Facebook ads for a while and loved the idea of my house smelling like a spa. I have an interest in Aromatherapy anyway and hate the amount of toxics used in cleaning products. Weirdly, I can actually taste surface cleaner very strongly. I’ve been at school cake sales before and seen people happily eaten cakes. But then I take one bite of and screw my face up in disgust at the chemical taste. Nobody else bats and eyelid. Most peculiar, me that is! I thought everyone would be able to taste it too. Anyway I digress but if you do want to read more about the toxins in everyday cleaning substances, start here.

My first thoughts about Purdy and Figg – Review for Eco Cleaning Spray

Again its a subscription model, what isn’t these days, although you can just buy the refills with no commitment. But I promised I’d give you my thoughts on the eco cleaning spray. Well, they make bold claims about your house smelling like a spa. I regularly go to Champneys to swim so I was ready to catch them out if there was even a whiff of chemical cleaningness about their product.

But there wasn’t! It really is delightful stuff. I’ve been using it as the only cleaning product in my house for all of the surfaces for nearly two years now. So I’ve obviously tested a fair few different scents over that time.

How to use Purdy and Figg

It says fill up the spray bottle and then tip a whole refill bottle of the eco cleaning solution into the top. Please do it that way because if you add the water afterwards then you get bubbles rushing up the spray bottle and overflowing. Similar to if you did it with your washing up liquid. Consider yourself warned.
But I do have a handy hint for you that goes against their advice…Use half a bottle. Yup, I’ve been using half a bottle for the last year and my house still smells like a spa and everything is clean but my cleaning costs me half the price.

Does it work?

Yes this eco cleaner makes things clean, therefore it works. I cannot tell you the difference to the smell after cleaning. Everyone I know uses it now, my mum, my sister, our friends.
I used to use a different eco cleaner before but it came in huge plastic bottles which I didn’t like as it didn’t feel that eco friendly. If you’re just starting a taxic reducing journey and you haven’t read ‘Staying Alive in Toxic Times‘ by Dr Jenny Goodman, I highly recommend reading it.

Me with my latest delivery of Purdy and Figg refills. They come in a handy letterbox size box. I’ve never had any breakages during my time of using them. I did have a box not arrived once in December but the courier had taken to a different house. As soon as I contacted them to say ‘that house in the picture isn’t mine’ they popped another box in the post the same day. I can’t fault their service and as you may have noticed, I love their product too.
